Here at Bluefish Landscaping Contractors, we have created exquisite landscapes for clients since 2007. Below, you can see our awards for our work across Surrey, including Weybridge and Guildford.
A new swimming pool terrace was needed to make a splash at a home in Hampshire.
The property was already undergoing extensive works, with Bluefish Landscaping Contractors as the principal contractor overseeing the day-to-day management of the wider 68-week project which included a new pool house and biomass building. The swimming pool complex area was to be an entertaining space for the clients, with a newly designed pool and terrace featuring a statement fireplace.
Judges Comments
A fine project by Bluefish Landscaping Contractors showcasing how traditional craftsmanship can seamlessly blend with modern, clean lines. Having viewed the project, there were numerous challenges, from navigating planning authority constraints to constructing an oversized subterranean pool and plant room, and intricately detailing the clay brick fireplace and outdoor kitchen.
We look forward to seeing more exceptional work from this contractor.
The client brief for this small but sensitive project was to build a new entrance courtyard and provide a more attractive and defined access route to the main house. Formerly visitors unfamiliar with the property would find it difficult to locate the main entrance as the front door was largely obscured from the access road.
The new scheme, utilising beautiful brick and cobble work, has enhanced the appearance of the property overall and provided a much more open, inviting and welcoming approach to the front door.
The design has retained and enhanced the magnolia trees to either side of the entrance gate and lavender now spills over and softens the new walls as visitors approach the farmhouse.
Judges Comments
Although a relatively small project, the new path, retaining walls and planting leading to the front door of this beautifully restored 16th-century farmhouse have been constructed by first-class craftsmen to an extraordinarily high standard. The cobble and brickwork is exquisite and are further enhanced by the lovely planting scheme.

Bluefish Landscaping Contractors were awarded best newcomer to BALI for recognising exemplary levels of professionalism, workmanship and client satisfaction that brings credit to the landscape industry.
The BALI National Landscape Awards were held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on the 5th December 2014. It was a wonderful example of an industry coming together and celebrating the outstanding professional achievement of its members.
Bluefish Landscaping Contractors Ltd were also one of the winners in the “domestic garden construction £250k and over” categories.
“Bluefish Landscaping impressed the judging panel with a high-quality project built to exacting standards. Site tidiness during the build stages was exceptional while the cleanliness of the workmanship was also impressive. Excellent use of natural stone and brick material formed detail within a large terrace and pool water feature. We look forward to judging more entries from this BALI Company in future award years.”

Bluefish Landscaping Contractors were very proud to be part of the team for the 2012 series of Love Your Garden with Alan Titchmarsh. The construction team was led by garden designer and consultant, David Dodd, Managing Director of The Outdoor Room.
Love Your Garden saw the writer, broadcaster and TV personality, Alan Titchmarsh, travel the country to give surprise transformations to the outdoor spaces of some of Britain’s most deserving people.
In each episode, Alan surprised garden owners who had a great story to tell and whose outdoor space was in desperate need of a transformation. While the owner was whisked away, Alan designed the new-look garden, taking inspiration from the best gardens in the area.
Also on hand were Alan’s three co-presenters and garden experts – David Domoney, Katie Rushworth and Frances Tophill – who passed on to viewers the tips and techniques behind their own contributions to the new garden. Along with Alan, they transformed the dreary outdoor space before welcoming the owners back to see their dream garden realised.
Whether you’re a first-time gardener or green-fingered horticulturist, Love Your Garden is full of tips and surprises to inform and inspire everyone on how to redesign their own outdoor space.
Receiving this award is a great recognition of the hard work and craftsmanship that went into the construction of this very challenging project.
This project was part of a major restoration of a Lutyens house in Hascombe, Surrey, designed by architects Michael & Frances Edwards.
The craftsmanship was exemplary and the G. Jekyll landscape was relocated and extended in immaculate condition. Using clay slips and brick on edge with committed planting, the resulting garden was magnificent. Some features, such as the fountain, were recreated from unrealised Lutyens designs, while other elements, such as the summer house, are current designs but sympathetic.
The brick-terrace colonnade linked the house and the garden with a strong formal axis which created a truly beautiful space.
The location on a promontory with the valleys below adds to the special nature of this formal garden. There were also strong lines of symmetry and reworking of the original plans, creating a truly outstanding piece of work.
